Kangulum Pagalum Thiruvaaimozhi Pasuram

Nammazhwar composed this pasuram in a Nayaki- Nayaka Bhava. He considers himself to be Nayaki longing for the company of Nayaka( Lord Ranganatha) who seems be ignoring. The eleven pasurams are meant to be conveying the status of Nayaki to the Nayaka, by the mother of Nayaki that Nayaki is suffering from the separation from Nayaka. The Mother wants to know how Lord Ranganatha proposes to handle the case of Parankusa Nayaki. The mother describes the situation of Parankusa Nayaki in these 11 pasurams.  Some of Paramkusa Nayaki's mother statements about Parankusa Nayaki include

  • She does not sleep night and day
  • How Can she live without Lord Ranganatha
  • She imagines seeing Sangu and Chakram and starts Praying
  • She says the Lords eyes are like that Lotus flower
  • She is crying and tears are overflowing
  • Sometimes She keeps standing, Her feet wont move
  • Keeps offering her respects with her hands to you,  whichever direction she turns
  • Some times She faints saying it is difficult control the Love towards the Lord
  • She laments stating why the Lord is hard on her
  • She keeps on Calling the Lord and faints as she finds no response

The lamenting goes on and on.

Here is an offering of these 11 pasurams. (7th paththu and 2nd Thirumozhi).

Bhagavat Sri Ramanuja's Association with Srirangam, Kanchi, Thiruppathi and Melkote Temples

Sri Ramanuja had several names namely Ilayazhwar, Ramanujar, Yathirajar, Udayavar, Lakshmana Muni, Godagrajar, Appanukku Sangaazhi Alittha Perumal, Anna, Thiruppavai Jeer and Bhasyakarar.

The name "Ramanuja" was given by Lord Varadaraja when he took Sanyasa. It is Lord Varadaraja who protected him from the evil designs of his guru Yadhava Prakasa and guided him from somewhere in North India to the out skirts of Kanchipuram and created opportunities to perform seva of bring water from a well for the temple.

Nam Perumal gave the name Udayavar to Sri. Ramanuja, when Nam Perumal obtained Ramanuja's services for Srirangam temple management from Lord Vardaraja.

Lord Srinivasa of Thirumalai Hills went one step higher and gave a Sannathi inside the temple, which is very unique. Sri. Ramanuja establishes the supremacy of Lord Srinivasa and decorates the Lord Srinivasa with Conch and Chakra and earns the name "Appanukku Sangaazhi Alittha Perumal". He also establishes a Nandavanam with the help of Anandhazhwan and ensures daily flower service to the Lord

Lord Thirunarayanan retained Ramanuja's services for 12 years. Ramanuja was instrumental in locating the Moolavar, Lord Thirunarayanan and consecrated the temple laying down detailed processes for nithya Kainkaryams and also winning back the Utsavar Selva Pillai from Delhi Princess.

Sri. Ramanuja was connected with all these major temples. Ramanuja Jayanthi is fast approaching. Let us remember his services to these temples. Here is an offering in the form of song
