Divya Desa Mangalasasanam Thirukarambanur - DD003 Thirumangai Azhwar's Peria Thirumozhi 1399 Pasuram 5.6.2
Azhwars have done Mangalasasanam for some Divya Desams very elaborately. For example all 11 Azhwars have sung in praise of Srirangam( Divya Desam 1), Ten Azhwars have sung in praise of Thiruvengadam ( Divya Desam 75) and Thiruparkadal ( Divya Desam 107). Managasasanam to as many as 67 Divydesams was done by one of the eleven Azhwars only.
Mangalasasanam depending on how elaborate it is, covered the one or more of following aspects
The pasuram presented below is by Thirumangai Azhwar.
Thirumangai Azhwar (Parakalan) is the Sarngam (bow) amsam of Srimana Narayana. He holds the distinction of having sung the most number of pasurams than the rest of the Azhwars. Also Thirumangai Azhwar has performed Mangalasasanam at 86 Divya Desams, the maximum by any Azhwar.
Thirumangai Azhwar travelled to different Divya Desams on his horse "Adalma" Very often in his pasurams he would recall his visit to other Divya Desams and see those Lords in the Divya Desam for which he is doing Mangalasasanam then. In this pasuram "பேரானைக் குறுங்குடியெம் பெருமானை, திருதண்கால்" Thirumangai Azhwar says he saw Sri Appala Ranganathar of Thirupper Nagar, Sri Vaishnava Nambi of Thirukkurungudi, Sri Nindra Narayanan of Thiruthankal, Sri Purushoththaman of Thirukkarambanur and Lord Sriman N arayana ( who swallowed seven seas with pearls deep inside, seven mountains and seven worlds and still not satisfied)) in Lord Sri ranaganatha if Srirangam.
