Vamanan to Trivikraman Azhwar Pasurangal

Vamanan to Trivikraman Azhwar Pasurangal
-----------------------------------------------------------

Poigai, Bhotham, Pei, Andal, Nammazhwar and Thirumnagai Azhwar have sung the gloryof Vanama Avatar who grew into Trivikrama later to humble the pride of Mahabali and help Indra regain power. Here is a presentation of relevant lines of pasurams of above Azhwars.

Vamana to Trivikrama

Vamana to Trivikrama

Today being Vamana Jayanthi let us remember how Nammazhwar describes the great event of Vamana Avatar leaping into Trivikram Avatar. This pasuram(3594) is one of the most graphical description of the transition from Vamana to Trivikrama. The Discus, Conch, Bow, mace and the Sword grew from a small size to huge size. Once the Panchayudhams wielded grew, the earth shook with the energy created in the process. The auspicious sounds emanated from all directions in the sky from the prayer offerings of all Devas and celestial devotees. Now the Lord's head and Lotus feet grew at amazing speed towards the sky and the good time to redeem the Devas from the clutches of Mahabali and it is such a rare sight to see the Lord Measured the upper and lower worlds and places his feet on the Mahabali's head.

May this process of Vamana to Trivikrama event happened in a second, minute, hours or days. I am not sure if any Purvacharyar commentary is available?

Even with advanced technologies in Cinematic cameras, such an event could be captured and background music created. May be a topic for Steven Spielberg and A.R.Rehman to ponder

Aathiseshan - Seshathva Swarupam

Aathiseshan - Seshathva Swarupam
ஆதிசேஷனின் சேஷத்வம்

Aathiseshan is true example of Seshathwam  for Bhagavth Kainkaryam i.e a true servant of Lord Sriman Narayanan. Poigai Azhwar Pasuram says so, Athisesha follows Lord Sriman Narayana like a shadow, Athi Seshan serves  Lord Sriman Narayana in the following ways

Athiseshan serves as bed when thr Lord is resting,  as throne while seated, as an umbrella while walking, as a Padhuka while standing. Athisesha also serves as a Managala deepam, as a fan and as a pillow when the Lord needs them. Athisesha accompanied as Balarama In Krishnavatar and as Lakshmana in Rama Avatar. He was born as Lord Srimana Narayan's messenger in spreading Sri Vaishnavism and works of Azhwars as Bhagavat Ramanjua and Manavala Mamunigal. Athisesha serves the Archa Avatar by offering himself  as serpant bed in 27 Divya desams out of 108. Athisesha also took the form  of Tamrind tree to help Nammazhwar to live for 16 years.

Athisesha seeks opportunities to serve Lord Sriman Narayana in any form, at any time and in any possible manner.

Here is song on Athisesha's selfless service to Lord Sriman Narayana.

Kovil Thiruvaimozhi.
கோவில் திருவாய்மொழி
------------------------------------------
Nammazhwar's Thiruvaimozhi has 1102 pasurams and it is recited during Raapaththu utsavam in Srirangam over 10 days starting Vaikunda Ekadasi day and in Major temples across Tamil Nadu,

During Mogul invasion, the temple management could not conduct elaborate 10 day Raapaththu Utsavam and the learned Dviya Prabhanda Goshti and Araiyars came up with Kovil Thiruvaaimozhi, a shortened version of entire Thiruvaimozhi(1102 pasurams). They covered all the Ten Thirumozhi(110 Pasurams each)  selecting one or two pathigam( 11 Pasurams)  from each Thirumozhi.

Base- Kovil Thiruvaimozhi consists of :

Presented below is a song on Kovil Thiruvoimozhi.
