When any one wants to know about a guru, he needs to be introduced by someone who had greater understanding about his work, teachings, glory etc. This time we learn about hm through  Sri Vaikunta Gadyam

One of the great qualities of an Acharya is just not to teach but lead the way by practicing his teachings. Bhagawat Sri Ramanuja excelled in it. He composed  Gadya Thrayam consisting of Sharanagathi Gadyam, Sri Ranga Gadyam and Sri Vaigunda Gadyam and sang it in front of Nam Perumal and Peria Piratti on Panguni uthiram day, the only day Piran and Piratti give darshan together in Serthi festival every year. Sri Ramanuja explains the approach to Saranagathi through Gadya Thrayam.

The 66th sloka of 18th Chapter of Bhagavad Gita is Charma Sloka which Lord Krishna teaches Arjuna.

Sarvadharman Parityajya Mam Ekam Saranam Vraja |
Aham tva Sarva Papebhyo Mokshayishyami Masuchaha ||

Lord Krishna advises that giving up all the means (Upayams) to obtain Moksha, treating Lord Krishna as the only means and surrender to Him. Then Lord Krishna would release the surrendered from all sins.

Sri Ramanuja explains the process of surrender through Gadya Thrayam.

After Shranagathi Gadyam was presented by Sri Ramanuja, Sri Ranganatha was so happy that he enables Sri Ramanuaja to visualize Parama Padam. In Sri Vaikunta Gadyam, Sri Ramanuja describes Sriman Narayana with Divya Thamapathis, Nithya Suris and its beautiful surroundings. Sri Ramanuaja narrates the Paramapadam scenario along with gunas of Para Vasudeva.

The attached video presentation is a chanting of Sri Vaikunta Gadyam.

Ashtaksaram, Dwayam and Charma Slokam precede chanting of Sri Vaikunta Gadyam followed by "Kayena Vacha" and "Yadkshara Pada".

Sharanagathi Gadyam consists of three parts. In the first part, Sri Ramanuja surrenders to Peria Piratti. In the scond part, Sri Rananayaki fully satisfied with Sri Ramanuja's total surrender, blesses him with success in his surrender to Nam Perumal. In the third part, Sri Ramanuja Surrenders to Nam Perumal. Satisfied with Sri Ramanuaja's unqualified total surrender of Sri Ramanuja, Nam Perumal repeats whatever Sri Ramanuja had earlier as confirmation of His acceptance.

When any one wants to know about a guru, he needs to be introduced by someone who had greater understanding about his greatness and noble qualities through Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya krithi.

Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya composed over 32,000

songs on Lord of the Seven Hills,

Thiruvengamaudaiyan. He took to Ramanuja

saampradayam, with the blessings of Sri Satagopa

Yateendra Maha Desikan of the Ahobila Mutt

who performed his Samasrayanam. Sri Ramanuja's

Visishthdwaitha principles, Artha Panchaka

tatvams are well embedded in his compositions. Sri

Annamacharya had great reverence and respect for

Bhagavath Sri Raamanuja and composed two

follwing compositions on the greatness Of Sri

Ramanuja and service that he rendered for the

upliftment of Srivaishavism and its followers.

1) Unnthonnadu Udayavaru
2) Gatulanni Kilamaina Kaliyuga Mamadunu

In this posting we will discuss and Listen to krithi

 "Unnthonnadu Udayavaru". Sri Annamacahrya

prefers  to use the the Tiltle Udayar for Sri Ramanuja

in this composition , as that title was conferred by

Namperumal Himself. Sri Annamacahrya goes on to

laud the greatness of Bhagavath Sri Ramanuja and

he addesses him as Udayavaru and considers him as

the noblest of the noble. Annamacharya says that

Udayavar was an expert in all sastras and scriptures

in all the worlds and took efforts to absorb them and

and made it available to through his writings

.  Annamacharya says Udayavar  comprehended

veda, upanishad and Brahmma Sutra etc. and being

an able administrator ensures the rules and

regulations follow the scriptures for Temple

 administration and Nithya Kaikaryams.

Annamacharya also says that Sri Ramanuja was

classic example for Vishnu devotee and un paralleled

Bakthi towards him.  Annamacharya says that

Udayavar is supreme Acharya by virtue of his

 knowlwdge. Annamacharya considers him as

equivalent to lord Venkateswara on earth as he is

vested with Powers to confer moksha.

When any one wants to know about a guru, he needs to be introduced by someone who had greater understanding about his work, teachings, glory etc. This time we learn about Ramanuja through Sri Ramanuja Chatusloki

Chatusloki composed by Ananathazhwan  glorifies Sri Ramanuja in four stanzas. Ananthazhwan pays tribute to Bhagavath Ramanuaja at his Abodes in Srirangam, Thirumala, Hastigiri and Yadavadri, the four major temples Bhagavath Ramanuaja was associated with.

Anandhazhwan says

Bhagavtha Ramanuja is very compassionate to those who surrender to him with unswerving faith and devotion and blesses them with Bhagavath and Bhagavatha kainkarya opportunities

Bhagavath Ramanuja is very capable of handling both non-believers and believers with doubts ina skill full way with his intellectual mastery.

Bhagavath Ramanuja who has mastered the fundamentals saastras, smritis, Vedas and Vedanta out of compassion and mercy written commentary to Bramaha Sutra titled "Sri Bhasyam".

When any one wants to know about a guru, he needs to be introduced by someone who had greater understanding about his work, teachings, glory etc. This time we can discuss the rare gesture of Bhagavath Ramanuja spending time with a poor brahmin lady and sdvising her to stay back in Thirukkolur. He patiently listens to  reasons she advances quoting instances from the lives of 81 great individuals.

Adiyen had ana opportunity to listen to Sri Velukkudi Krishnan's discourse on "Thirukkolur Pen Pillai Varthai"

When he visited Thirukkolur Divya kshetram,  Bhagavath Ramanuja meets a young lady who was about to leave Thirukkolur. Based on Nammazhwar's Pasuram, Bhagavth Ramanja knew people take extra-ordinary steps to gain entry to Thorukkolur. He was surprised by this lady's act and decides to talk to this lady and understand the reasons for leaving Thirukkolur.

The lady,  Thirukkolur Ammal advances 81 reasons supporting her decision. He cites the examples of 81 people and says that she did not possess any of the great acts of kindness, compassion, devotion, sacrifice, dedication and so many other Human values exhibited by them.

After listening, Bhagavath Ramanja admired her knowledge on Scriptures and the various incidences that she quoted. She convinces her that she is qualified to stay in Thirukkolur and visits her home and in a rare gesture part takes food prepared her and blesses her.

An attempt has been made to present the 81 incidences narrated by Thirukkolur Ammal in the form of a song.
