गोदा स्तुथिः SrI Goda sthuthi

गोदा स्तुथिः
SrI Goda sthuthi

Thoopul Sri   Vedantha Desikan had the blessings of Lord Hayagriva and was well versed in Sanskrit and Tamil and has  composed slokas, Stothrams and Pasurams  in both languages. While he was staying in Srivilliputhoor, one day he was planning to visit Andal Sannathi and offer his prayers after a few hours. But to his surprise he heard Mangala Vadhya noises on his street similar to that usually heard when a deity procession from the temple, takes place. When he came out to the entrance of his home. he saw utsavar Andal coming in a procession towards his home. He was surprised because he lived in a street that does not fall in the route for temple deity processions. He   was excited because the very deity Andal that he was planning to visit was at his doorstep. Spontaneously came out this 29 stanza  sanskrit stothram outpouring of his Bakthi towards Andal.  It seemed that Andal could not wait for his arrival to Sannathi and decided to go him to get Managalasasanam.

Here is a presentation of SrI Godasthuthi.

Tulasi Stotram

Tulasi Stotram

Tulasi plant is worshiped since Vedic times. Tulasi leaves is most dear to Lord Krishna. In Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says

patram puspam phalam toyam yo me bhaktya prayacchati
tad aham bhakty-upahrtam asnami prayatatmanah

This simply means "If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit a water, I will accept it."

The flower that is liked by Lord Krishna is Tulasi.

Bhagavada says "“Although flowering plants like the mandara, kunda, kurabaka, utpala, campaka, arna, punnaga, nagakesara, bakula, lily, and parijata are full of transcendental fragrance, they are still conscious of the austerities performed by Tulasi, for Tulasi is given special preference by the Lord, who garlands Himself with Tulasi leaves.”

Tulasi adorns Lord Krishna's feet and neck.

Attached is presentation of Thulasi Stothram extolling the glory of Tulasi

Sri Saligrama Stothram

                           Sri Saligrama Stothram

Saligram Sila, mostly found in Gandaki river running to the South of Himalyas. Saligrama Silas are considered to be icons of Lord Vishnu in his various Avatars and Names.

A Saligram Sila that has the marks of Conch (Shangu), Wheel (Chakra), Gada and Padam is considered to be a shape of Keshava, one of the Nmaes of Lord Vishnu. There are 24 permutations of these four marks, each shape having a unique name of Lord Vishnu.

Saligram Stothram is part of Bhavishyoththara Puranam and an outcome of discussions between  Lord Krishna and Yudhistira. Lord Krishna teaches the significance of worshiping Saligram Sila.

Who Qualifies to be called a Vaishnava
Vaishnava Jana To Tene Kahiye Je

Song on Naimsaranyam Divya Desam

 Song on Naimsaranyam Divya Desam

Very often it is said Nature is God and God created the five elements surrounding the nature. Nurturing the Nature and maintaining the same is thanks Giving act to the Lord who gifted it to the world.

Naimisaranyam is Divyadesam is Swayam Vyaktha Kshetram and is on the banks of Gomati.

Here is song on Lord Hari of Naimisaranyam Divya Desam. I dedicate this song to my elder brother who is entering his eighties. May Lord bless him.

Naimsaranyam Divya Desam

                    Naimsaranyam Divya Desa Pasuram

Very often it is said Nature is God and God created the five elements surrounding the nature. Nurturing the Nature and maintaining the same is thanks Giving act to the Lord who gifted it to the world.

Naimisaranyam is Divyadesam is Swayam Vyaktha Kshetram and is on the banks of Gomati.

A demon by the name gayasooran did penance and pleased Lord Sriman Narayana and out of his ego he refused to take a boon from the Lord claiming he was supeior to the Lord. Lord Sriman Narayana used his Chakra(Wheel) and cut Gayasooran' body into three pieces and thrown to namely Siragaya gives darshan in the(Badri Kshetram), Nambigaya(Naimisaranya Kshetram) and Charanagaya(Gaya Kshetram). Devotees perform rituals at these three kshetras for departed souls

Lord Sriman Narayana is said to exhibit himself as nature in the form of forest(Aranya). As the Chakra(Nemi) of Lord Sriman Naryana landed at this location, this place is called Naimisaranyam. The Moolarvar and Thayar are known as Sri Hari and Sri Hari Lakshmi. The moolavar is also Lord Devarajan

Thirumangai Azhwar performs saranagathi to this Lord for reforming and transforming him and leading him away from Worldly pleasures.

Dedicated to my elder brother entering the Eighties. May Lord Devaraja of Naimisaranya Divya Desam bless him.
