When any one wants to know about a guru, he needs to be introduced by someone who had greater understanding about his work, teachings, glory etc. This time we learn about him through Ramanuja Nootrandhadhi composed by Koil Peria Nambi ( Thiruvarangathamudhanar)

Peria Koil Nambi was handling the administration of Srirangam temple. Bhagavat Ramanuja wanted to streamline the operations of the temple as well as administration process. Peria Koil Nambi was a big process hindrance to Bhagavat Ramanuja's plans. Bhagavat Ramanuja was so good in man mangement and devised a scheme to tackle this situation. He asked Koorththazhwan to develop friendship with Peria Koil Nambi and create a taste and interest in scriptures and Divya Prabhandham for him.. Koorththazhwan undertook the job sincerely and slowly made Peria Koil Nambi to understand Ramanuja's Mahima and greatness. The plan worked and Peria Koil Nambi wanted to become a sishya of Bhagavath Ramanuja and he was asked to take Kooraththazhwan as his Guru so that will give a proximity to work with Bhagavth Ramanuja through Kooraththazhwan. Peria Koil Nambi later composed Ramanuja Nootrandhadhi. Bhagavath Ramanuja did not like the initial version and so scrapped it. Bhagavath Ramanuja guided him to re-write the Ramanuja Nootrandhadhi connecting his relationships to Azhwars, Acharya and their works bringing out the respect and reverence he had for all of them. Once it was completed Bhagavath Ramanuja was very happy and gave the Title "Amudhanar" to Peria Koil Nambi and since he was from Thiruvarangam ( Srirangam), he got the new name "Thiruvarangathamudhanar" Bhagavat Ramanuja gave permission to add "Ramanuja Nootrandhadhi" to Divya Prabhandham, which had 3892 pasurams became 4000 and Came to be known as Nalayira Divya prabhandham. Since the entire Divya Prabhandham is in Tamil also came to be known as Dravida Veda Sagaram.

Let us begin with first pasuram.

Thiruvarangathamudhnar advises his mind to seek the lotus feet of Bhagavath Ramanuja and chant His nameto get His blessings and support. Thiruvarangathamudhnar says Bhagavath Ramanuja benefited from surrendering at the feet of Nammazhwar, who composed Thiruvoimozhi praising the virtues of Lord Sriman Narayana and His consort Mahalakshmi, who came out of her seat on Lotus flower to occupy broad chest of Sriman Narayana. Thiruvarangathamudhnar says that Bhagavath Ramanuja has blessed many scholars and pundit well versed in scriptures but they still guidance to overcome the worldly maya

When any one wants to know about a guru, he needs to be introduced by someone who had greater understanding about his work, teachings, glory etc. This time we learn about him through Ramanuja Avayava Prabhava Slokam

There are eight slokams.
This slokam connects each Purva Acharya starting with

Nammazhwar to Pillai Urangavilli Dasar and identifies them

as each angam or part of Bhagavth Ramanuja..
It is Nammazhwar who created Bhavisshyadacharya

Vigraham by boiling water taken from Tamirabharani river

and hander it over to Sri Nathamunigal, the first Acharya after

Nammazhwar and this was passed on to successive

Acharyas till it was installed in the current location in

Thirukuugoor by Acharyan of Sri Manvala Mamunigal. Nammazhwar announced to the world the oncoming of a

great Jagathguru, Bhagavath Ramanuja by creating a

symbolic Bhavishyadacharya Vigraha and blessed him with

his Lotus feet. So Bhagavath Ramanuja's head is symbolic of

Nammmazhwar's Lotus feet. To bless Bhagavth Ramanuja in

his great mission of establishing and spreading

Visishtadwatham each succesive Acharya had a contribution

and blessing to Bhgavath Ramanuja and has been identified

with one Angam of Bhagavth Ramanuja. Starting with

Alavandhar's five sishyas ( Ramanuja's five gurus) had a

direct one to one relationship with Bhagavath Ramanuja's

spiritual journey and acquistion of Knowledge.

When any one wants to know about a guru, he needs to be introduced by someone who had greater understanding about his work, teachings, glory etc. This time we learn about hm through
Arthi Prabandham composed by Manavala Mamaunigal.

Manavala Mamunigal had the distinction of being blessed with "Sri Sailesa Dayapaartram" thanian by none other than Lord Ranganatha. He had close proximity to Lord Ranganatha.  He strongly believed that that Bhagavath Ramanuja who was conferred the power to grant Moksha is the only dependable source to recommend him a moksham. Such was his guru bakthi. He decides to plead with Yathiraja.

Arthi Prabhandham was the very last composition of Manavala Mamunigal reflecting on the the glory and compassion of Bhagavath Ramanuja.  Mamunigal appeals to Yathiraja to help him to shed his mortal coil and bless him with a darshan of Sriman Narayana on the wings of  Peraia thiruvadi

Arthi Prabhandham consists of 60 pasurams and is classic example of Manavala Manunigals mastery of Tamil Poetry composition. He has used most of commonly and uncommonly used meters of Tamil Poetry in these 60 pasurams

In this pAsuram, maNavALa mAmunigaL says, “Long live SrI rAmAnuja (1) destroyed the six trees of philosophies that stood outside the boundaries of vEdhas and explained the principles (2) scared away the miscreants of the vEdhas (3) annihilated kali and its impact without leaving any trace of it in this world (4) restored, streamlined and ordered the treasures of SrIrangam (5) gave us the true meaning of vEdhas through his “SrI bhAshyam” (6) spread the essence of thiruvAimozhi to the interested masses and (7) appeared in the glorious SrIperumbUthUr. Long live SrI rAmAnuja’s beautiful lotus feet, the sole refuge for everyone”.

Manavala Mamunigal  celebrates the glorious star of thiruvAdhirai when SrI rAmAnuja appeared in this world. When he was born in the earth, a lot of different things happened for good. The philosophies that were earlier misinterpreting vEdhas were destroyed. kali started to shake and feared that it would not get a place to live when SrI rAmAnuja will be there. Earth, the dhivya dhESams in it, the citizens of those dhivya dhESams everyone and everything was happy as they will be relieved on their burden when SrI rAmAnuja appears. Such a divine SrI rAmAnuja was born in SrIperumbUthUr, a place surrounded by beautiful ponds that has lots of red fish. It is a place that has the charm of a beautifully constructed city. What a glorious day indeed.

In this pasuram Manavala Mamuni pays glowing tributes to the external appearnce of Bhagavat Ramanuja even though he was born 350 years after Bhagavath Ramanuja left for Paramapadam.
This pasuram is more of a "Long Live" slogan for Bhagavath Ramanuja. First Manavala Mamuni pays glowing tribute to his lotus feet which is full of auspicious qualities. Then he goes on to talk about the saffron robe shining like glowing sun on his beautiful body. Mamuni says Bhagavth Ramanuja's sacred thread reflects his knowledge of Vedic Philosophy. His soulders resemble karpaga Vriksham (tree) capable of conferring liberation and Thulasi mala adorning his neck and body. A\beautiful, compassionate eyes and shining twelve thiruman ( Urhrapundram) on his glowing body. He was real role model  of Srivaishnava in externally and with his endearing qualities internally. Manavala Mamuni adds "Long Live with each line of this pasuram.

I am reminded of  pasuram by Embar on Bhgavath Ramanuja' s beauty. This may be  viewed at the following link.

Manavala Mamunigal says that Nithyasuris( Those who serve Lord sriman Narayana in Paramapadam) consider it as an asset to serve the twin lotus feet of those category of those people who prostrate at the feet of those category of people who avoid the association with those category of people who does not know Ramanuja ir knowing Ramanuja does not chant " Ramaunajaya Namah". Manavala Mamuni says Those who merely chant Bhagavath Ramanuja's name and worshiping at his lotus feet would be taken  to Paramapadam where the  Nithyasuris would welcome them and worship theit feet.
