Sharada Bhujanga Prayatha Stothram Composed by Adi Sankara

Sharada Bhujanga Prayatha Stothram

Adi Sankara has composed a number of slokas using Bhujanga Prayatha Meter.

Bhujanga means snake. Bhujanga Prayatha is meter used in Sanskrit verses resembling the movement of a snake. It has fixed rhythm with three syllables short, long and long to form a word. When four such words are packed in a line then it is known as Bhujanga Prayatha. So Bhujanga Prayatha follows the pattern  "L-H-H", called ya-gana, where  "light" syllable (L) is called laghu and  "heavy" syllable (H), called guru.  Bhujanga Prayaata is formed with 4 ya-gana.

Adi Sankara has composed  Bhujanga Prayatha Stotram on Devi Shrada of Shringeri on Tungabadra Reiver bank.  .

Sri Stuthi Composed by Sri Vedantha Desikar

Sri Stuthi Composed by Sri Vedantha Desikar

Sri Vedantha Desikar composed this stothra on Goddess Lakshmi. He confirms that combination of Lord Narayana and Goddess Laksmi together alone can confer and bestow all types of wealtha including health. This appoach different from Ealier Acharys who had maintained That Goddess Lakhmi's Karumya and recoomendation  hels to get the grace of Lord Narayana, He says that Lakshmi Kataksha is effective when both Lord Naryana and Goddess Lakshmi are together.

This is Vedanta Desika’s Kanaka-dhaara-stavam. Lakshmi or Sri is reputedly the Goddess of Wealth. Sloka 16 refers to how She can shower wealth on Her votaries. This stothra is addressed to Padmavathi Thayar and Lord Srinivasa of Seven Hillls.
