Nootrettu Thiruppathi Andhadhi Pasuram
( Pillai Perumal Iyengar)
Azhwars have done Mangalasasanam for some Divya Desams very elaborately. For example all 11 Azhwars have sung in praise of Srirangam( Divya Desam 1), Ten Azhwars have sung in praise of Thiruvengadam ( Divya Desam 75) and Thiruparkadal ( Divya Desam 107). Managasasanam to as many as 67 Divydesams was done by one of the eleven Azhwars only
Mangalasasanam depending on how elaborate it is, covered the one or more of following aspects
- Name of Divya desam directly or in a subtle way
- Name of Emperuman directly or in a subtle way
- Manobhavam of Azhwar who composed the pasuram
- References to events , Leelas in Vibhava Avatars
- References to Para, Vyuha and Antharyami forms of Sriman Narayana
- References to 26 Thatwams ( Paramatma, Jeevatma, Moola Prakruthi, Mahaan, Ahankaaram, Manasu, Kaalam Five each of elements, attributes, Indriyas and Senses)
- Divya Desa Vimana, Pushkarini etc
- Natural beauty of the Divya desam surroundings
The pasuram presented below is by Pillai Perumal Iyengar, who was a sishya of Paarasar Bhattar. Pillai Perumal Iyengar had composed Ashta( eight) Prabhandhams. One of them is Notrettu Thiruppathi Andhadhi which had one pasuram each for each of the 108 Divya Desams.
