The compassionate Lord Varadaraja flew on the shoulders of Garuda and gave darshan to Sri Dhoddacharya. To mark this event, every year during annual Garuda Seva festival in Vaikasi, the scene of DhoddAchArya Sevai is enacted. The Archakas hide Lord Varadaraja for a few minutes with two Umbrellas. Devaraja Ashtakam By Thirukachi Nambi(Kanchipurna)

Devaraja Ashtakam
Thirukkachi Nambi(Kanchipurna)

Kanchipurna alias Thirukachi Nambi, a disciple of Sri Alavandar, composed Devaraja Ashtakam and as the name suggests it has 8 verses. It’s a beautiful offering to Lord Varadaraja in Sanskrit extolling the virtues of Lord Varadaraja. This prayer was offered to Lord Vardaraja for the welfare of Sri Ramanuja in whose life, Thirkachi Nambi played a key role. It is Kanchpurna who got answers from Lord Varadaraja for Sri Ramanuja’s doubts related to  Tathva.
