Devaraja Mangalam By Manavala Mamuni
I always liked a trip to this temple town, Conjeevaram for its vastness, temple Architecture and of course having darshan of Lord Varadaraja and Perundevi Thayar. Long time back I had been to Brammothsavam festival and especially Garuda Sevai.
Lord Vardaraja protected
Sri Ramanuja and brought him back when he lost his way trying to escape from
Sri Yadava Prakasa and left him in the vicinity of Kanchi. Sri Ramanuaja was
serving Lord Varadaraja by bringing water from a well for the daily thiru Aradhana use in the temple. Lord Vardaraja also broke the archavathara code started talking to Sri
Kanchipurna alias Thirukach Nambi regularly during fanning seva.
Sri
Varadaraja conveyed six useful tips to Sri Ramanuja through Kanchipurna, a disciple of Sri Alavandar and great devotee of Lord Varadraja. It is Lord
Varadaraja who gifted the services of Sri Ramanuja to Lord Ranganatha of Srirangam and
for the benefit of entire community.
Later Sri
Manavala Mamunigal Visited Lord Varadaraja and composed Devaraja Mangalam.
Here is an offering of a song to Sri Varadraja along with chanting of Devaraja
Mangalam.
