தேனி லினிய பிரானே
செண்பகப் பூச்சூட்ட வாராய்.

In Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says

Patram Puspam Phalam Toyam Yo Me Bhaktya Prayacchati                             Tad Aham Bhakthy-Upahrtam Asnami Prayatatmanah

Lord Krishna says that if one offers with utmost devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit and even plain water, he would gladly accept it. It is amazing that Lord Krishna, who is fond of butter, he does not even mention it. Lord Krishna does not even say what type of flower. Lord Krishna is fond of Thulasi as it signifies purity and sanctity. Lord Krishna likes all flowers emanate from Earth (Bhoo Devi, his divine consort) but Lotus the most liked by him, probably because his divine consort Mahalakshmi sprung up on a lotus flower. Vedic scriptures talk about Thulasi as most suited flower to be offered because of the its purity and sanctity.

Periazhwar who had a Nanadavanam of his own good used to offer a variety of flowers every day as mala, which of course Andal used it on herself first before offering it to the Lord. Periazhwar focused on Krishna and his pasurams to Lord Krishna.Even other Archaavatharams appeared as Lord Krishna to him. His entire Peria Thirumozhi is devoted to Krishnavatharam.

In his "Aanirai Meikka" Thirumozhi, PeriaAzhwar probabaly imagines that Yashodha is using his Nandavanam

and enticing Lord Krishna, with
variety of flowers. Here is a presentation of this Tirumozhi.
