Rukmani Nayika Sametha Sri Venkatakrishna Parabrahmane Namah

Rukmani Nayika Sametha
Sri Venkatakrishna Parabrahmane Namah

It is customary for all Divya desams to have one Lord as Moolavar even if Sannathi exists for other Lords. If there is one divya desam where five Lords are given the status of Moolavar, it is the Parathasarathi Temple in Triplicane, Chennai Sri Venkatakrishnan, Sri Yoga Narashimmar, Sri Gajendra Varadar, Sri Rama and Sri Ranganatha sannathis are treated on par as Moolavar. This temple has another main entrance for Sri Narashimmar Sannathi witha  Dwaja Sthambam. Each deity has their own annual Brahmmothsavam Even the floating festival( Theppam) is shared by all five deities, three days for Lord. Parthasarathi and one day each for Lords Narsshimmar, Varadar, Ramar and Ranganatha. On one of three days, Thirumanjanam takes place in the Theppam ( Not sure which day but it is for Lord Parthasarathi)

Each Moolavar have their own Utsavars This Khetram is known as Pancha Moorthy stalam. The Utsavar for Moolavar Sri Venkatakrishnan is Sri Parthasarathi, the Lord who was Sarathi for Arjuna in Mahabharata war. Scars from the arrows of Bheesma may be seen in the face of the Lord Parthasarathi This is one temple where year around annual utsavams, Thirunakshathira festivals are held for utsavars, Azhwars and acharyas. All the 12 months are packed with festivals. Vaikunta Ekadasi festival is as popular as it is in Srirangam.  Divya prabhandham goshti is very famous in this temple. The Garuda Sevai yesal, Car festival, Deity's trip  to Bay of Bengal, Marina beach during Masi Magam and fire shows are still vivid in my memory

The specialty of this temple is Sarkarai Pongal, which I have tasted a long back.

Thirumangai, Pei, and Thirumazhisai Azhwars have done managalasasanam at this Kshetram.

Bhagavat Sri Ramanujas parents had prayed to this Lord for the birth of a child and were blessed accordingly. Mudhal Azhwars met with Thirumazhisai Azhwar at this Kshetram

A visit to this temple remind us avatars of Sri Krishna, Sri Rama, Sri Narshimma but also the effect of having visited Kanchi Varadar and Srirangam Sri Ranganathar on a daily basis

This temple is an icon for Chennai.

Here is an offering to Lord Venkatakrishna

Nammazhwar composed this pasuram in a Nayaki- Nayaka Bhava. He considers himself to be Nayaki longing for the company of Nayaka( Lord of the seven hills, Thiruvengadamudaiyan)  who seems be ignoring.

As Nammazhwar is always thinking of Lord Krishna, he is treating Thiruvengamudaiyan as Lord Krishna.

The eleven pasurams are meant to be conveying the status of Nayaki to the Nayaka( Thiruvengadamudaiyan), by the mother of Nayaki that Nayaki is suffering from the pangs of separation from Nayaka.  The mother says that  Parankusa Nayaki's  health is deteriorating and she seems to losing one after the other. The Losses include

  • Bangles from the hand(ஏலக் குழலி யிழந்தது சங்கே)
  • Her golden color of her body(மங்கை யிழந்தது மாமை நிறமே)
  • Her Pride(பிறங்கிருங் கூந்தல் இழந்தது பீடே)
  • Her Esteem(பாடுடை அல்குல் இழந்தது பண்பே)
  • Her modesty(கண்புனை கோதை இழந்தது கற்பே)
  • Her composure(விற்புரு வக்கொடி தோற்றது மெய்யே)
  • Her health(விற்புரு வக்கொடி தோற்றது மெய்யே)
  • Her lustre(தையல் இழந்தது தன்னுடைச் சாயே)
  • Her Mejasty( வாசக் குழலி இழந்தது மாண்பே.)
  • Her beauty((பூண்புனை மென்முலை தோற்றது பொற்பே)
  • Her discipline (கற்புடை யாட்டி யிழந்தது கட்டே)

This Tirumozhi or Pathigam deals with first aspect of Artha panchakam namely Paramathma Swarupam.. Nammazhwar offers this managalasasanam to the Lord of the seven Hills and emphasizes the need to serve this Lord of the seven hills without any disruption.

Namazhwar says that without taking rest and willingly,  we need to serve the Lord of the seven Hills and serve him under
any cicumstance as He is

  • The father to all
  • Easwaran for all
  • Showing his deep affection
  • endowed with gunas that are impossible to describe
  • served by many adiyaars and better to serve them
  • liberator of all those that are associated with him
  • erasing the sins and removes the effect of bada karma of those that offer prayers
  • capable of releasing that surrender,  from the cycle of birth and death

So Nammazhwar advises to surrender to the Lord of the seven Hills without waiting till old age catches up.

Namazhwar says that without taking rest and willingly,  we need to serve the Lord of the seven Hills and serve him under
any cicumstance as

He is the father to all
He is Easwaran for all
He is showing his deep affection
It is impossible to describe him
Better to serve those thata are serving him
Association with Lord of seven hill would ensure liberation
Praying to the Lord of seven hills would erase our sins and Bad karma
Lord of the seven hills, who would release from the cycle of birth and death

Nammazhwar recommends to surrender to the Lord of the seven hills, b
efore old age catches up.

(6.10.1 to 6.10.11

Lord Srimana Narayana is not easliy accessible in Para, Vyuha, Vibhava and Antharyami forms to many Jeevatmas', who are caught in the worldly Maya and the cycle of birth and death. Hence he decided to present himself as Archavatar in as  many Divya Desams. There are 8 divya desams where Lord Narayana appeared as  Swayambhu. One such Kshetram is Thirupapthi alias Thiru Mala. Nammazhwar surrenders to Lord Srinivasa of Thiruppathi with a a managasasanam of these 11 pasurams starting with "உலகம் உண்ட பெருவாயா!".

Nammzhwar longs for His Blessings to accept his surrender. He appeals to Thiruvengamudaiyan with following requests in his 11 pasurams.
