தொண்டரடிப் பொடி ஆழ்வாரின்  திருமாலை  அறியார் திருமாலையே ( ஸ்ரீமன் நாராயணனையே) அறியாதார் என்பது வாக்கு

     शोलोर्व्यां वनमालांसां भक्थ भक्थ्रेनुमास्रये  

Thondarapodi Azhwar was born as vanamala amsam of Sriman Narayana. Thondarapodi Azhwar was born in the Prabhava year, in the month of Margazhi and  Jyeshta Nakshatram. He was born in Vipra family who were devoted to Vishnu. He was named Vipranarayana and  he grew as  a devotee of Vishnu. He visited Srirangam to offer prayers to Lord Ranganatha and settled down in Srirangam to perform  the kainkaryam of maintaining a nandavanam and offering garlands to Lord Ranganatha. He continued this seva for years and Lord Ranganatha performed a leela in his life to draw him more closer. By HIS will the pious Thondarapodi Azhwar was lost in worldly pleasures and so Lord Ranganatha makes him realize his mistake and wakes him up and gears him into Emperumon service. Thondarapodi Azhwar in turn composed Thirupllayezhuchchi the main purpose was to wake Lord Ranganatha and bless his devotees. He also composed Thirumaalai (45 slokas)

In the 45 pasurams of Thirumaalai, Thondarapodi Azhwar covers the following.

Pasurams 1-3 

Thondarapodi  Azhwar narrates his experience Of Lord Ranganatha. Azhwar decares chanting his name will protect every one. Thondarapodi Azhwar never sang in praise of any Archavathar other Lord Ranganatha Of Srirangam. Azhwar says he does not want moksham and would rather stay in Srirangam performing kainkaryams to Lord Ranganatha  and chant his glory. Azhwar is not interested in Nithya and Leela Vibhuthi but longs to spend his time in Srirangam serving Lord Ranganatha.

Pasurams 4-14 

Thondarapodi Azhwar advises adiyaars to seek the lotus feet of Lord Ranganatha and serve him , leaving bodily attachment and sensual pleasures. Azhwar asks them to realize there is no other God than Lord Ranganatha. Azhwar telss them that he is the same Lord Krishna of Brindavan and asks them to surrender to Lord Ranganatha

Pasurams 15-24 

Thondarapodi Azhwar narrates how Lord Ranganatha helped him to lift him from deep troubles

Pasurams 25-34 

Thondarapodi Azhwar says he was lost in  worldly pleasures and commited henoius acts not worth mentioning and also groped in darkness having forgotten his kainkaryams to Lord Ranganatha. But Lord Ranganatha was so compassionate that he lifted him from low and demeaning life  and transformed him. So he tells the adiyaars to reach out to Lord Ranganatha with out wasting time and get blessed

Pasurams 35-38

Thondarapodi  Azhwar says Lord Ranganatha is one who took avatar as Lord Trivikrama and Lord Krishna. Azhwars says that Lord Ranganatha is father and Mother to all.  

Pasurams 39-45

Thondarappodi Azwar worships all the bhaktas of Lord Ranganatha who is none other than  Vishnu and puts the podi or dust under their feet on his head. He respected all those Vishnu Bakthas irrespective of their caste, creed or birth. Only qualification he was looking in them was deep and unqualified Love for Lord Ranganatha. Azhwar declares எம்மடி யார்க ளாகில் தொழுமினீர் கொடுமின் கொள்மின்" and Azhwar says that if the Learned Vedic Pundits abuse Vishu Bakthas then they deserve to be condemned. தமர்களில் தலைவ ராய சாதியந் தணர்க ளேலும் நுமர்களைப் பழிப்ப ராகில் நொடிப்பதோ ரளவில்ஆங்கே அவர்கள்தாம் புலையர் போலும்
