Sri Rama Bhujanga Prayatha Stotram By Sanakaracharya

Sri Rama Bhujanga Prayatha Stotram By Sankaracharya

Sankaracharya has composed a number of slokas using Bhujanga Prayatha Meter.

Bhujanga means snake. Bhujanga Prayatha is meter used in Sanskrit verses resembling the movement of a snake. It has fixed rhythm with three syllables short, long and long to form a word. When four such words are packed in a line then it is known as Bhujanga Prayatha. So Bhujanga Prayatha follows the pattern  "L-H-H", called ya-gana, where  "light" syllable (L) is called laghu and  "heavy" syllable (H), called guru.  Bhujanga Prayaata is formed with 4 ya-gana.

Adi Sankara has composed  Bhujanga Prayatha Stotram on Lord Rama.  This Bakthi laden Stotram  praises Lord Rama's beauty, valour, compassion, prowess, mahima and other divine qualities. Sri Rama Bhujanga Prayatha Stotram is Presented below.
