Greatful To a Parrot (Pachchai Varna Kili)
Lord Ranganatha kula Deivam of Ishvaku Vamsam, was donted to Vibeeshana by Lord Rama. While on his way to Lanka, Vibheeshana stops on the banks of Kaveri. Lord Ranganatha decides to stayback in Srirangam on banks of Cauveri and Kollidam but promises to recline on Adisesha facing southwards blessing Vibheeshana and Lanka. Chola King Dharma Varma constructs a grand temple for Lord Ranganatha in Srirangam.
Once during floods the temple with Vimanam get washed away and buried in sand. A parrot ( Pachchai varna Kili) points to the location of Lord Ranganatha to Chola King
murmuring a sloka on Lord Ranganatha. Later the Chola King resetablishes the temple earns the tittle " Killi Varma Chozha" and also buils a mandap iside the emple titles "kili Mandapam" in honor of that parrot.
The attached song is tribute to that parraot.
