Divya Desa Mangalasasanam Thirupper Nagar(Koviladi) - DD006 Thirumangai Azhwar Peria Thirumozhi (1436) 5.9.9

Divya Desa Mangalasasanam
Thirupper Nagar(Koviladi) - DD006
Thirumangai Azhwar  Peria Thirumozhi (1436) 5.9.9

Azhwars have done Mangalasasanam for some Divya Desams very elaborately. For example all 11 Azhwars have sung in praise of Srirangam( Divya Desam 1), Ten Azhwars have sung in praise of Thiruvengadam ( Divya Desam 75) and Thiruparkadal ( Divya Desam 107). Managasasanam to as many as 67 Divydesams  was done by one of the eleven Azhwars only

Mangalasasanam depending on how elaborate it is, covered the one or more of following aspects

  • Name of Divya desam directly or in a subtle way
  • Name of Emperuman directly or in a subtle way
  • Manobhavam of Azhwar who composed the pasuram
  • References to events , Leelas in Vibhava Avatars
  • References to Para, Vyuha and Antharyami forms of Sriman Narayana
  • References to 26 Thatwams ( Paramatma, Jeevatma, Moola Prakruthi, Mahaan, Ahankaaram, Manasu, Kaalam Five each of elements, attributes,  Indriyas and Senses)
  • Divya Desa Vimana, Pushkarini etc
  • Natural beauty of the Divya desam surroundings
The pasuram presented below by Thirumangai Azhwar (Parakalan)  is  the Sarngam (bow) amsam of Srimana Narayana. He holds the distinction of having sung the most number of pasurams than the rest of the Azhwars. Also Thirumangai Azhwar has performed Mangalasasanam at 86 Divya Desams, the maximum by any Azhwar.

In this "
நால்வகை வேத மைந்து வேள்வியா றங்கம் வல்லார் "  pasuram, Thirumangai Azhwar says that the Lotus
eyed Lord of Thirupper Nagar lives in his heart permanently
and also resides in the hearts of well disciplined and well
behaved vedic Scholars of Thirupper Nagar, Which has beautiful
fields with sel-fish jumping and dancing. The Scholars of
Thirupper Nagar are well versed in Rig, Yajur, Sama,
Atharvana Veda, six Anga, Five Maha Yagnas and also
practice vedic ritulas better than Devas from time immemorial.

Here is a presentation on Thirumangai Azhwar's Mangalasaanam  to Lord of Thirupper Nagar(Koviladi)  through "நால்வகை வேத மைந்து வேள்வியா றங்கம் வல்லார்" Pasuram.
