Divya Desa Mangalasasanam Thiruvinnagar - DD013 Peyazhwar's Moondram Thiruvandhadhi 7.2 Pasuram (2343)

Divya Desa Mangalasasanam
Thiruvinnagar - DD013
Peyazhwar's  Moondram Thiruvandhadhi 7.2  Pasuram  (2343)

Azhwars have done Managalasasanam for some Divya Desams very elaborately. For example all 11 Azhwars have sung in praise of Srirangam( Divya Desam 1), Ten Azhwars have sung in praise of Thiruvengadam ( Divya Desam 75) and Thiruparkadal ( Divya Desam 107). Managasasanam to as many as 67 Divydesams  was done by one of the eleven Azhwars only.
Mangalasasanam depending on how elaborate it is, covered the one or more of following aspects

  • 1      Name of Divya desam directly or in a subtle way

  • 2      Name of Emperuman directly or in a subtle way

  • 3     Manobhavam of Azhwar who composed the pasuram

  • 4      References to events , Leelas in Vibhava Avatars

  • 5     References to Para, Vyuha and Antharyami forms                    of  Sriman Narayana

  • 6       References to 26 Thatwams (Paramatma, Jeevatma, Moola Prakruthi, Mahaan, Ahankaaram, Manasu, Kaalam Five Each of elements, attributes, Indriyas and Senses)

  • 7       Divya Desa Vimana, Pushkarini etc

  • 8      Natural beauty of the Divya desam surroundings
The pasuram presented below is by Peyazhwar. Peyazhwar
is the Nanadaka (Sword) amsam of Lord Narayana. He was found in the lily flower in the pond of the Adi Kesava Perumal Temple in Mylapore. He had composed 100 pasurams of Moondram ThiruvanDhadhi

In this MoondramThiruvandhadhi " விண்ணகரம் வெஃகா விரிதிரைநீர் வேங்கடம்  " , Peyazhwar performs Mangalasasanam to Lord of Thiruvinnagar and says " Lord Oppiliaappan is none other than the Vamana who took water in his palm from the kamandalam of Mahabali and is also the same Lord that presides over the Divya Desams of  Thiruvekka, stream surrounded Thiruvengadam, Thirukudanthai, mansion surrounded Thiruvelkkkai, nectar-groves surrounded  Srirangam and Thirukkottiyur

Here is a presentation on PeyAzhwar's  Mangalasaanam  to Lord Oppiliappan through "
