Aazhi Mazhai Kanna
Andal sings this pasuram to
invoke rain God to shower rain on the land so that all
the crops are saved and cattle survive and prosperity is assured everywhere. This shows Andal’s concern for the community. She wants
the rain God to order the clouds to suck
all water from the deep sea such that the clouds become pretty dark like the
color of Sriman Narayana and
with a roar raise to the sky above,
emitting lightening like the Chakrayudham in
the hands of Lord Padmanabha and and blowing out like the conch in the
Lord’s hands and pour out rain all over
the land like arrows from Lord Rama’s Sarngam (Bow). Andal spells out that the land would prosper
by observing Marhazhi Nonbu. Andal seeks the blessings from Para, Vyuha,Vibhava Avathars by
offering prayers to Antharyami.
